Questions

From the Nirṇaya-sindhu pp. 118–120; Dharmasindhu p. 33, with the page for each.

When is Ram Navami?

In Delhi: Thursday, 15 April 2027, Monday, 3 April 2028 and Monday, 23 April 2029. Each city keeps its own day by its own sunrise and sunset. Nirṇaya-sindhu pp. 118–120; Dharmasindhu p. 33

What time is the Ram Navami puja?

At midday, the third fifth of the daytime, while the Navamī runs, since Rāma was born at midday; the arghya is given then. Nirṇaya-sindhu p. 119; Dharmasindhu p. 33

Why is the date different in the US or UK?

Ram Navami is decided by the Navamī at midday at the city. The tithi begins and ends at the same moment everywhere, but sunrise and sunset come at different hours, so a city far to the west or east can keep another day. Nirṇaya-sindhu p. 119

How the day is found

Read the methodology
The day
The Caitra śukla Navamī covering midday. The earlier day is kept only when its midday alone is covered, and the later day when both middays are covered or neither is. Nirṇaya-sindhu pp. 118–120; Dharmasindhu p. 33.
Midday
The third fifth of the daytime (Nirṇaya-sindhu p. 28). The pūjā time is that midday while the Navamī runs.
Two traditions
Where the pāraṇa would fall on the Smārtas’ Ekādaśī, Smārtas keep the earlier day and Vaiṣṇavas the later; both are shown.
